LensWork "Seeing in SIXES" Publishes KP's James Popovic

KP digital artist, James Popovic, recently earned bragging rights for his featured work in LensWork Publishing’s, “Seeing in SIXES.”Out of nearly 1,900 entries, James was one of only 50 chosen photographers featured in the juried publication.

LensWork is an award-winning publication that focuses on photography with an emphasis on the creative and storytelling process through articles, interviews and featured portfolios from talented artists throughout the world. To encourage creative expression, the publication recently provided its readers with the opportunity to compete for a spot in its first community book project,Seeing in SIXES.” The special edition features six images from each winning artist that represent a common subject, interesting place, narrative story or extended portrait. Entries were judged based on composition, use of light and creative storytelling.

James's winning work, "Heroes Lived Here,” features images of the USS COD, a decommissioned World War II submarine currently stationed off Cleveland's coast. James's interest in WWII history sparked his endeavor to create large compelling 360-degree panoramics of the submarine. With the LensWork opportunity on his mind, James challenged himself to take crops of his original body of work to convey the story of military life on the cramped submarine.

James is one of several talented on the KP team that are encouraged to be creative in and outside of the studio on a daily basis, and we're proud to see recognition beyond what he does for our clients.

Congratulations to James and the other talented photographers featured in LensWork’s Seeing in SIXES edition.
